Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
PestWatchAI is a service operated by Feron Holdings LLC (a California limited liability company), referred to in this policy as "we," "us," or "PestWatchAI." Our mailing address is [TBD — business mailing address]. You can reach us at privacy@pestwatchai.com for any privacy-related question.
2. What we collect
We collect two distinct kinds of personal information ("PI"):
2a. About our customers (pest control companies and their staff)
| Category (CCPA §1798.140) | Examples |
|---|---|
| Identifiers | Name, email, phone number, mailing address, company name, IP address |
| Commercial information | Subscription tier, billing history, territories purchased |
| Internet or network activity | Dashboard access logs, login timestamps, browser type |
| Geolocation (coarse) | City-level location derived from IP — never precise GPS |
| Inferences | Likelihood that a lead matches a customer's territory and service profile |
2b. About third-party businesses (these are not our customers)
To generate leads, we process information about businesses that appear in public-record disclosures relating to pest-related compliance issues. This includes the business name, address, phone number (when publicly available), and the substance of the issue cited in the public record. We obtain this information exclusively from government public-record sources. We do not collect personal information about the business's owners or staff beyond what is already publicly disclosed in those records.
3. Where the data comes from
- Directly from you: when you fill out our contact form, request a sample lead list, or sign up for a subscription.
- From your interactions with our website and dashboard: server logs, analytics events.
- From public records: government public-record disclosures (county, state, and federal agencies) — used only for the third-party business data described in section 2b.
4. How we use it
- To operate the PestWatchAI service: deliver leads to your dashboard, send notifications, bill your subscription.
- To respond to inquiries from our contact form.
- To improve the service: analyze which lead types convert, refine our pest-detection logic, tune our pricing.
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from authorities.
5. Who we share it with
We share information only with the following categories of recipients, and only as necessary:
- Service providers that we contract with to operate the service — for example, hosting (Netlify), email delivery, payment processing. These providers are bound by contract to use the information only on our behalf.
- Legal and regulatory authorities when required by law (court order, subpoena, or government request).
- Successors in interest if we are acquired, merged, or undergo a similar corporate transaction — in which case the acquirer becomes bound by this policy or a successor with at least equivalent protections.
We do not share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties for their own marketing purposes.
6. Sale and sharing of personal information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
Because we don't sell or share personal information, we don't operate a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link. If our practices ever change, this policy will be updated before the change takes effect and a clear opt-out mechanism will be made available.
7. Your California rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights with respect to your personal information:
- Right to know — what categories of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes for using it, and the categories of third parties we share it with.
- Right to delete — request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain legal exceptions.
- Right to correct — request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — we do not currently process sensitive PI as defined by CPRA (e.g. precise geolocation, biometric data, account login credentials). If our practices change, you may direct us to limit that use.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share PI; this right is preserved if our practices ever change.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not retaliate against you for exercising any of these rights.
How to exercise your rights
Send a request from the email address associated with your account to privacy@pestwatchai.com. We will verify your identity by matching the request to records we already hold (account email, name, or a recent transaction). We will respond within 45 days, with one possible 45-day extension if reasonably necessary, and we will tell you in advance if we need the extension.
Authorized agents
You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We will require (a) written permission signed by you authorizing the agent to act, and (b) verification of your identity directly with you before we act on the request. Powers of attorney executed under California Probate Code §§ 4000–4465 are accepted without the additional verification step.
8. Minors
PestWatchAI is a business-to-business service intended for adults who operate pest control companies. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us at privacy@pestwatchai.com and we will delete it promptly.
9. How long we keep data
| Data type | Retention |
|---|---|
| Customer account information | While your account is active, plus 24 months after closure (for tax, billing, and dispute-resolution purposes) |
| Subscription and billing records | 7 years (US tax recordkeeping requirements) |
| Contact form submissions | 12 months |
| Dashboard access logs | 90 days |
| Lead data (third-party business records from public sources) | While your subscription is active, then archived |
We may retain information longer if required by law or to defend a legal claim.
10. Security
We protect personal information with reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — including encrypted database storage, access controls, and limited employee access on a need-to-know basis. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by California law.
11. Cookies and tracking
Our public marketing site uses only essential cookies required for basic page operation (e.g. form-submission tokens). We do not use third-party advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site behavioral tracking.
Our dashboard uses functional cookies to keep you signed in. These cookies are necessary for the service to work and do not track you across other websites.
12. Third parties we use
We use a single third-party service provider, bound by contractual obligations to handle data on our behalf and not for their own purposes:
- Netlify — website hosting and form submissions.
We do not embed third-party fonts, analytics trackers, advertising pixels, or social-network scripts on our public pages. If we add new processors (analytics, payment, email delivery, etc.), we will update this section before they go live.
13. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page and notify customers with an active subscription by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
